Radial fibers supplied by METRUM CRYOFLEX together with the TWIST Diode 1940nm laser guarantee full compatibility of the set and effective energy transfer to the treatment field. This means that the nominal energy of laser light declared by the manufacturer is equal to that delivered to the tissue. Many other lasers and optical fibers introduce losses of up to 20%, which can cause recanalization of the veins due to uneven energy density and power losses during the EVLT procedure.
Software
The TWIST Diode laser software has implemented a mode of operation (Phlebology) that allows for control of the vein ablation process by audibly informing the operator about the delivery of a programmed dose of energy (J/cm) to the vein, thus determining the rate of fiber ejection from the treated vessel (sec./cm). After generating the desired dose of energy, the laser automatically signals the moment of moving of the optical fiber. An operator using this functionality can fully concentrate on tracking the ultrasound image without the need to control the laser operation. The use of additional equipment such as a "fibre winch" is unnecessary, which reduces costs and also increases the quality and safety of the procedure.
