Overview
Mepitel One is a transparent, perforated, non-absorbent wound contact layer with a soft silicone Safetac® contact on one side and a thin perforated polyurethane film. It allows exudate to pass to a secondary absorbent dressing and can reduce dressing-change frequency while minimising pain and trauma.

Indications

• Indicated for a range of exudative wounds: surgical incisions, partial-thickness burns, traumatic wounds, donor sites and graft fixation, leg and foot ulcers
• Also suitable as a protective contact layer for non-exudative wounds, blisters and fragile skin

Instructions for use

• Cleanse the wound according to clinical practice and dry the perilesional skin thoroughly.
• Select a size that covers the wound plus at least 2 cm margin; cut or overlap dressings as required for larger wounds.
• Remove release liners and apply the adhesive (Safetac®) side to the wound; correct placement is indicated when printed text on the dressing is readable.
• Cover with a secondary absorbent dressing and secure; change the secondary dressing when saturated while leaving Mepitel One in place where clinically appropriate.
• May be used under compression therapy and in combination with gels. Single-use only.

Precautions

• Consult a healthcare professional if signs of infection occur (fever, increased pain, redness, heat or swelling).
• Do not use in patients with known sensitivity to silicone or polyurethane.
• For graft fixation and blister protection avoid routine changes before day 5 unless clinically indicated.
• Do not use if inner packaging is damaged or open; do not re-sterilize.
