Overview
Mepore® is a sterile, self-adhesive, absorbent island dressing. It comprises an absorbent wound pad with an integrated non-adherent contact layer; an adhesive border with water-based acrylic adhesive covered by two overlapping release liners for aseptic application; and a breathable outer nonwoven providing physical protection.

How the product works

• Mepore® can be applied by healthcare professionals or by lay persons under supervision.
• 1. Cleanse the wound according to clinical practice.
• 2. Dry the surrounding skin thoroughly; avoid moisturizers, gels or ointments that may affect adhesion.
• 3. Remove the overlapping release liners and apply the adhesive side to the skin without stretching; ensure the absorbent pad covers the wound.
• 4. Press the border gently to secure adhesion.
• Removal: grasp an edge and peel slowly in the direction of hair growth.
• Change dressing before full saturation, at signs of leakage or as clinically indicated.
• Dispose of used dressings according to local environmental procedures.

Precautions

• Do not use on patients with known hypersensitivity to acrylic adhesives or other components.
• Avoid use on fragile skin; skin irritation may occur.
• Do not stretch the dressing during application.
• If signs of infection appear (fever, increased redness, warmth or swelling), consult a healthcare professional.
• Do not reuse; reuse may reduce performance and cause cross-contamination.
• Sterile: do not use if inner sterile barrier is damaged or opened; do not resterilize.
