Overview
The positioner is a moldable support for adult and adolescent hospital patients. It contains a fluidized medium (viscous fluid, microspheres and polyethylene beads) encapsulated in an outer polyurethane film to allow manual shaping for anatomical support and temporary fixation.

How the product works

• Remove the positioner from the transparent plastic bag.
• A cover or linen must be placed between the patient’s skin and the positioner at all times during use.
• Place the positioner appropriately under or against the patient.
• Gently mold the positioner toward the patient/anatomical site to support and maintain the desired position and to redistribute pressure.
• The positioner can be shaped to accommodate medical equipment or airway clearance.
• The positioner can be re-molded easily to meet changed clinical needs.
• If the product has deteriorated and can no longer hold the desired position, discard and replace it.
• The positioners are MR Safe and may be used during CT. Do not X-ray through the positioner as it may distort the image.

Precautions

• Replace promptly if punctured or damaged.
• If punctured, place the positioner in a sealed plastic bag to avoid spillage, which may increase slip and fall risk.
• Do not autoclave or microwave.
• Do not X-ray through the positioner.

Warnings

• Patients must be properly supervised and monitored in healthcare facilities when using positioners.
• Do not allow patients to lie face down in the positioner unless closely monitored due to risk of suffocation.
• Avoid sharp objects near the product to prevent puncture.
• When molding the product, do not use fingernails and avoid wearing rings with raised or sharp edges.
