Overview
Mepilex® Border Flex Oval is a self‑adherent, absorbent foam wound dressing with a soft Safetac® silicone wound contact layer and a waterproof outer film. It maintains a moist wound environment, spreads exudate within the dressing and protects the wound from dirt and bacteria.

How the product works / Instructions for use

• Select an appropriate size/shape optimised for the anatomical site.
• For wounds: cleanse per clinical practice and dry surrounding skin. Apply so the absorbent pad overlaps the dry surrounding skin by at least 1–2 cm (or as indicated for larger sizes) to protect from maceration and secure fixation.
• Remove release film(s) and apply the adherent side to the wound; smooth the border without stretching.
• Can be used under compression bandaging. Dressing changes and regimen should follow clinical assessment; initial increase in wound size or exudate can occur due to debridement.
• Dispose of used product according to local regulations.

Precautions

• Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to product components.
• Do not combine with oxidising agents (e.g. hypochlorite, hydrogen peroxide).
• If signs of infection appear (fever, increased redness, warmth or swelling), consult a healthcare professional.
• Prophylactic use does not replace comprehensive pressure injury prevention protocols.
• Do not reuse. Sterile — do not use if sterile barrier is damaged or opened; do not re‑sterilise.

Warnings

• Polyurethane foam may yellow on exposure to light, air or heat; colour change does not affect product properties if used before expiry.
