The Computer Assisted Rehabilitation ENvironment (CAREN) targets all aspects of balance and locomotion in both research and clinical treatment. The use of virtual reality enables researchers to assess the subject’s behavior and includes sensory inputs like visual, auditory and vestibular.
CAREN integrates a 3D motion capture system and immersive virtual reality environment. Any parameter of the system and the person on it can be influenced and recorded. This will rapidly give insight into the context or pathology specific behavior of the subject, offering possibilities to investigate new treatment options.
