For Chronic Achilles Tendon Reconstruction
The AchilloTape System provides a non-harvesting, quick, simple and effective technique for the reconstruction of a chronic ruptured Achilles tendon. The procedure pack comprises a wide, open weave polyester implant and associated disposable drill and rigid probe, all provided in a single box. The implant is available in two sizes: 10 mm x 800 mm (small) and 20 mm x 800 mm (large). The implant is placed through a small bone tunnel in the os calcis and threaded within the tendon stumps to minimize exposure of the implant while providing a strong repair.
Indications
The AchilloTape is a single use Poly-Tape device intended for Achilles tendon repair.
This reconstruction procedure is particularly suited to the following situations:
In chronic cases where diagnosis of the Achilles tendon rupture has been delayed and atrophy of the tendon has occurred
Where previous surgery or conservative treatment for Achilles tendon rupture has failed
For the elderly or patients with a history of prolonged steroid treatment, where wound healing is often a problem after ankle surgery
The AchilloTape System is available in two sizes: small and large.
