Do not spend money on a new device, you can start with one module and then add functionality, if necessary! There are 2 steps in newborn hearing screening program. Step 1 (screening). This step includes OAE hearing screening of all 3-4-day-old neonates in perinatal centers. Step 2 (diagnostics). The OAE, ABR and other hearing tests are made for infants under age of 3 months who referred at Step 1 or for all infants with hearing loss risk factors. Audio-SMART system is well suited for both steps of hearing screening. At Step 1 TEOAE, DPOAE and automated ABR recordings are made which are recommended for risk groups to detect patients with auditory neuropathy/desynchronization.
