Description

Product overview
The cardiolife EMS-1052 from Nihon Kohden is a lightweight, compact monitor-defibrillator designed for rapid on-scene and transport response. It integrates ECG monitoring, SpO2, capnography, NIBP, invasive pressure, external pacing and advanced defibrillation/ AED functions, with options for digital data transmission to support clinical workflows.

Essential features
  • 3-lead ECG monitoring; synthesized 18-lead ECG via synECi18
  • SpO2 monitoring
  • Capnography (ETCO2) with cap-ONE sensor
  • Non-Invasive Blood Pressure (NIBP) and Invasive Blood Pressure (IBP)
  • Temperature measurement and cardiac output monitoring
  • Manual defibrillation, AED mode, synchronized cardioversion
  • External pacing

Quality of resuscitation
The cap-ONE CO2 sensor enables rapid confirmation of endotracheal tube placement, supports CPR quality assessment and provides early indication of ROSC. An audible multi-level tone reflects ETCO2 ranges. The device pairs wirelessly with Nihon Kohden CPR assist to deliver immediate feedback on compression rate and depth.

Effective shocks on demand
Fast charging minimizes time to deliver energy when VF/VT is detected. Continuous VF/VT analysis in AED mode supports earlier defibrillation decisions. Clear Wave Pads and artefact-filtering reduce interference during chest compressions.

Post-cardiac arrest management
Advanced ECG diagnostics for STEMI assessment are available through synECi18, which synthesizes additional posterior and right ventricular leads from a 12-lead ECG to aid acute care decisions.

Toughness and portability
Operable from -20 to 50 °C with IP55 protection. Passed drop testing to 1.22 m. Weight approximately 4.2 kg and device is ready for use in about 4 seconds after power-on, supporting rapid deployment in prehospital and in-hospital resuscitation settings.

Advanced diagnostics
synECi18 synthesizes six additional leads without applying extra electrodes; cap-ONE provides compact, fast ETCO2 measurement for intubated and non-intubated patients.

Highlights
  • Intuitive handling: touch display and control dial enable three-step defibrillation
  • Designed for field use: IP55 protection and drop-tested to 1.22 m
  • Fast start-up: ready in ~4 seconds
  • Enhanced diagnostics: synECi18 and cap-ONE CO2 sensing
  • AED-mode continuous VF/VT analysis and artefact filtering with Clear Wave Pads
