Description

Overview
IV manifold sets provide controlled delivery of infusion therapy with minimal priming volumes and support for high flow rates. The product family includes multiple tubing sizes, rigid and flexible configurations, and component options intended to support safe medication administration in acute care settings.

Multiport® Manifold Sets
The Multiport® manifold features six ports, seven gravity-activated check valves and an on/off pinch clamp. It is engineered to reduce procedural risk and streamline bedside workflows with the following characteristics:
  • A closed system designed to reduce contamination risk and maintain a sterile fluid path
  • Q2® fluid delivery components configured to simplify medication administration
  • Straight, direct fluid pathways to optimize flushing and reduce retention
  • Low residual volume / minimal dead space
  • Neutral fluid displacement during connection and disconnection
  • Q2® check valves providing one-way delivery to prevent retrograde flow

Controlling Infection Rates (Q2® Engineering)
Q2® split-septum needle-free connectors deliver engineering controls that help isolate or remove the hazard of bloodborne pathogen exposure. These device-level controls, combined with work practice controls, contribute to reducing exposure risk and support compliance with recognized infection-prevention methods.

Applications
IV manifolds are intended for infusion therapy in cardiac surgery, anesthesia and critical care environments.

References
  • Closed catheter access systems are associated with fewer catheter-related bloodstream infections (CRBSIs) compared with open systems (see relevant CDC guidance).
  • Lyka® PORT is FDA 510(k) cleared for use with vascular access devices in hemodialysis or as an accessory to an I.V. set; authorized for use in patient populations including very low birth-weight infants, infants, children and adults for up to 7 days.
