Description

TOUL Operio produces an ultra-clean, horizontal laminar airflow that is directed onto the instrument table and surgical site, minimizing the presence of bacteria and microorganisms (including Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2) and offering the greatest possible protection for both the team surgery and for the patient. TOUL guarantees effective air filtration ensuring the aseptic standards of the most modern operating theaters (ISO 5), without time limits. TOUL can be used both in the operating room and in any clinic and does not require any plant engineering work. It only needs a simple power socket to work. The system reduces the bacterial load on the operating field and instruments by up to 95%. If bacterial contamination occurs during the preparation of the prosthesis or during the implantation of the prosthesis, an infection can develop: in this case it is necessary to remove the prosthesis in order to completely resolve the infection. Prosthetic implants do not cause infections, however, they are known to contribute to the potentiation of the infections themselves. Once a medical device is colonized, the bacteria are less susceptible to antibiotic treatment, due to the formation of the biofilm. Under these conditions, the number of microorganisms capable of transmitting infections is lower and the prosthetic implant functions as a vehicle for the spread of the bacterium to the surrounding tissues. In this scenario, the prevention of bacterial infections in surgery is essential.
