Product overviewNOVAIR, a French pioneer in on-site medical oxygen production, developed ION in collaboration with NASA. ION is an oxygen generator that implements a new ionic technology to produce ultra-high-purity medical oxygen without compressors or routine consumables. It operates using ambient air at atmospheric pressure and is designed as an ultra-compact, silent, plug-and-play solution offering high reliability and minimal maintenance. This device is not available for installation in European Union countries.
Key features- Exceptional purity: up to 99.99%
- Ultra-compact and silent design
- Plug-and-play installation concept
- Minimal maintenance; no moving parts or complex compressors
Why choose ION?- High reliability — New-generation ceramic membrane with no wear-prone parts; design avoids moving components.
- Simplified oxygen production — Produces medical-grade oxygen from ambient air at atmospheric pressure; capacity is scalable.
- Low acoustic profile — Vibration-free operation suitable for clinical and sensitive environments.
Ionic technology — how it worksThe system uses a solid ceramic membrane and an electrochemical process: oxygen molecules are ionized by a small direct voltage (< 1 V) into oxygen ions that migrate through the ceramic crystal, which selectively conducts oxygen ions. On the exit side, ions recombine into oxygen molecules to deliver medical-grade oxygen.
Applications- Designed for hospitals, clinics and medical facilities requiring ultra-high-purity oxygen.
- Scalable on-site oxygen production solutions.
