Ideal for children, the lightweight 7E8 modular hip joint is easily incorporated into a modular prosthesis. The 7E8 prosthetic hip joint is easily incorporated into a modular prosthesis. The aluminum hip joint has a proximal socket attachment plate and a distal tube clamp. It is approved for a maximum body weight of 99 lbs (45 kg). Maximum Body Weight - 99 lbs (45 kg) Material - Aluminum Distal Connection - Tube Clamp (22 mm diameter) Proximal Connection - Lamination Plate System Height - 19 mm Product Weight - 215 g The 7E8 Modular Hip Joint is to be used exclusively for the prosthetic fitting of children.The use of this component is limited to patients up to 145 cm (4’9") tall with foot lengths up to 21 cm and weighing up to 45 kg (99 lbs).The hip joint is an integrated component of the Ottobock Modular System for Children. The axis connects the upper joint section to the lower joint section, in which the extension mechanism is accommodated. Adjustments of abduction/adduction angles as well as flexion/extension angles are infinitely variable (section 4).The hip joint and socket attachment plate are located anterior on the hip socket. Due to this arran-gement and the low structural height (equalling the thickness of the laminate) a minimal amount of pelvic tilt will occur when the patient sits down.The lower joint section takes up the proximal end of the tube adapter which provides the connec-tion to the knee joint. AlignmentFor connection to the knee joint the angular 2R48 Tube Adapter is available which is provided for children up to a body height of approx. 120 cm.
