SHARK resectoscopes can be used for laser enucleation of the prostate, as well as for bipolar enucleation.
The details of the required instrument set are provided below with all the advantages at a glance.
Laser enucleation
SHARK laser resectoscope with laser working insert or laser working element
The advantages at a glance
High irrigation capacity and selective irrigation flow control through SHARK tip geometry
Two variants on continuous irrigation inner & outer sheath sets: 22/24 Fr. or 24/26 Fr.
24/26 Fr. inner & outer sheath set available with stainless-steel tip for blunt enucleation
Simple SNAP-ON click mechanism for sheath system and guide tube
Laser working insert or working element for laser fibers up to 1000 µm
Laser fibers can be fixed in place with a clamp sleeve
Bipolar enucleation
The therapy of benign prostate enlargement is steadily developing in the direction of transurethral endoscopic enucleation. Richard Wolf has developed a special electrode to meet the different requirements of bipolar enucleation.
The advantages of the Bipolar Enucleation Electrode at a glance
1. Distal wedge-shaped surface allows blunt, purely mechanical enucleation, as well as effective vaporization and incision with HF current.
2. Precision electrode head for significantly more precise and finer work with simultaneously high mechanical stability— particularly in apical dissection
3. Unique design for a multitude of applications enables enucleation, coagulation and vaporization.
4. "Donut"–shaped surface The special shape enables effective vaporization and coagulation with little loss of blood and minimized penetration of thermal energy into the surrounding tissue.
