Infantile Hypertrophic Pyloric Stenosis (IHPS) is a congenital enlargement and thickening of the annular pylorus. As a result, the exit passage is constricted through the enlarged muscle and the contents of the stomach can no longer pass through. The infant therefore regularly vomits his meals, which leads to a dangerous derangement of the metabolism and dehydration. This special spreading instrument was developed in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Amulya Kumar Saxena, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Imperial College, London. For this reason, a pyloromyotomy, an extension of the pylorus, is performed using a minimally invasive surgical technique. Wide contact surfaces of the jaw ensure uniform stretching of the muscle The joint mechanism at the distal end is completely covered by the sheath tube, so that inadvertent clamping of tissue due to protrusion of the joint mechanism is ruled out. A selection of different handles can be combined A new generation for more efficiency in IHPS Sets safety standards for IHPS interventions
