Description

SYRINGE with SafeR autoretractable needle and reuse prevention, Definition SafeR® is an automatically retractable safety syringe designed to provide a safe, accurate and reliable method for injecting liquids and medications. Once assembled with its needle (SafeR® Sting), the syringe incorporates a passive safety mechanism that retracts and contains the contaminated needle after use, helping to prevent possible infections due to needle stick injuries and syringe reuse. The needle retraction is activated by the syringe user with one hand, with a single click. Specifications The definition of RUP syringes includes syringes that can measure flexible dosages, have removable needles and a feature that prevents the syringe from being used a second time. This definition is provided for syringes used in curative care settings where a wide range of injection procedures are performed and which are typically 1.0 to 5.0 ml in size. SIPs cover AD and RUP syringes that have an additional feature to prevent needle injuries, such as a means of containing the infected needle after use. SIP = sharp injury prevention (needlestick) RUP = reuse prevention AD = automatic deactivation
