The LCMS-IT-TOF is a latest mass spectrometer which combines QIT (ion trap) and TOF (time-of-flight) technologies. At the time of combining QIT and TOF, efficiently introducing the ions into the QIT and the instantaneous expulsion of trapped ions to the TOF are the biggest technological challenges that need to be faced. The newly developed technologies that introduced with the device is used to resolve these problems. From Shimadzu‘s flourishing single quad HPLC mass spectrometer, the source design, desolvation capillary and condensed collision ion focusing Q-Array were reconstructed. In the CII method, eluted ions can be introduced efficiently from the LC to the ion trap by the Octapole Lens. CII is a method that uses compressed Ion Injection. With the help of new cleaning technology the ion trap QIT is able to provide an efficient MSn capability. In addition with that high resolution and accuracy for all MS, MSn modes are provided by BIE (Ballistic Ion Extraction) technology. A mass stability is provided by the temperature control of the flight tube with stabilizing the length of the ion flight.
