**HEMIPARESIS SIMULATION**
The Hemiparesis Simulation Kit is designed to reproduce the functional limitations experienced by individuals affected by partial weakness on one side of the body. It can be worn on either the right or left side and used independently or in combination with aging simulation equipment such as simulation glasses, hearing impairment simulators, overshoes, gloves, or a cervical collar.
Hemiparesis is a partial loss of muscle strength affecting either the right or left side of the body. It is most commonly caused by a stroke but may also result from other neurological disorders.
Affected individuals experience reduced mobility, strength, and sensation in an arm, a leg, or an entire side of the body. When paralysis is complete, the condition is referred to as hemiplegia.
The functional consequences are significant and may include walking difficulties, impaired balance, reduced coordination, and an increased risk of falls. Everyday activities such as dressing, writing, cooking, carrying objects, or moving around become more challenging and require greater effort.
The arm sling simulates the immobilization of the upper limb caused by increased muscle tone and spasticity. The walking cane reproduces the need for support and weight transfer during mobility. The eye patch simulates unilateral visual impairments that may accompany certain neurological conditions.
This immersive training experience helps participants better understand the daily challenges faced by people living with hemiparesis. It promotes awareness, empathy, and a deeper understanding of the physical and functional limitations associated with neurological disabilities.
