Description

Overview
The VICI Trace Gas Analyzer (TGA) is a turnkey chromatographic analyzer for laboratory, process and field applications dedicated to the analysis of trace impurities in stable gases. The chassis integrates acquisition instruments, PC, software and a large touchscreen. Each system includes a control module for temperature management, valve switching and detector electronics. Advanced options (alerts, trend monitoring, remote access) are available to adapt the system to demanding industrial environments.

Gas configurations and application areas
The TGA can be configured for a single gas type (e.g. hydrogen) or for a range of gases to detect impurities in He, H2, O2 and others. Standard configurations are offered for most industrial gases, calibration gases, high‑purity gases and specialty gases. Example gases listed in the standard configuration: He, H2, N2, Ar, O2, BF3, CO, CO2, CH4, C2H4, C3H6, CF4, C2F6, C3F8, NF3, HBr, AsH3, PH3, B2H6, SiF4, SiH4.

Main features
  • Modular design enabling a wide range of applications on a single instrument (detector modules, thermostatic zones, valve controls).
  • Chassis integrating instruments, PC, software and touchscreen for acquisition and display of analytical data.
  • Advanced options: alerts, trend monitoring, remote access, automatic calibration.

Temperature zones
Optional FTP (Fast Temperature Programmer) technology enables control of up to four fast thermal zones (FTP zones) assignable to columns, preconcentrators, heated lines, traps, valves or detectors. The analyzer can manage up to 12 programmable temperature zones in total and 4 FTP zones.

Detectors
Standard configurations use one or two detectors; the modular design allows integration of up to eight detectors. Detectors can be used in parallel or series and include any combination of: FID, microTCD, IMS, RGD or pulsed discharge detectors (PDD) operating in PDHID, PDPID or PDECD modes. For example, a PDHID combined with a microTCD can cover ranges from below 5 ppb to over 99% concentration.

Valve controls
Support for up to 16 pneumatic valves, 4 two‑position electric valves and 4 multiposition electrically driven valves, depending on configuration.

Gas Sampling System (GSS)
An optional Gas Sampling System (GSS) can manage up to 64 sampling lines, 4 calibration gases and associated methods. The GSS option enables batch analysis sequences, improves reproducibility, data storage, chromatogram integration and result calculation.

Automatic calibration
The automatic calibration option enables customizable compliance checks performed within a sample batch or at scheduled times during the day.

Customization and testing
Trace Gas Analyzer systems are configured and tested to user specifications, with numerous software and hardware options to meet laboratory or process requirements.
