Extended description
The walker is a mobility aid consisting of a metal frame that offers users increased stability and support while walking and often provides greater psychological confidence. Walkers are indicated for people with weakness in one or both lower limbs, balance disorders or a general reduction in strength, provided they retain sufficient upper-limb strength to handle the device. Different walker types exist and accessories (wheels, brakes, seats, baskets or trays) can be added to meet user needs. It is important to adjust the walker to the correct height: with the user standing and arms relaxed at the sides, elbows should be slightly flexed (approx. 20°) when using the walker so the user supports roughly half their weight and avoids strain on shoulders and back.
