OverviewThe WAS 500 4x4 4-stretcher ambulance is designed for civil protection and disaster relief. Based on the Mercedes-Benz Unimog U5023, it provides exceptional off-road capability to enable medical care and patient transport in areas with destroyed or difficult-to-access infrastructure where conventional ambulances cannot operate.
Vehicle concept and useThe vehicle is optimised for rapid rescue, initial treatment and stabilisation of patients directly in disaster areas and for subsequent transport to handover points or further emergency services outside the danger zone. Ergonomic patient compartment design enables efficient patient care under difficult operational conditions. The vehicle offers extensive storage and supply solutions for medical equipment as well as recovery and rescue equipment for self-sufficient operations.
