The Applimed-02 1000 - short "Oxyven device" - is used for the intravenous application of medical oxygen in exactly controllable dosages between 1 and 2 ml/min.
A continuous measuring of the oxygen flow rate guarantees a secure application and optimal efficacy.
The therapeutic effects are based on an intensified formation of the blood flow enhancing and antithrombotic hormone prostacycline which is formed in the lung endothelium. According to a study conducted at the medical university Hannover, Germany, the average increase in prostacycline is above 800%.
This leads to increased vascular dilation and consequently improved blood circulation throughout the whole body.
Consequently, the device is often used on patients that suffer from atherosclerotic blood vessel diseases, especially the peripheral atherosclerotic occlusive disease.
Furthermore, the therapy triggers an increase of eosinophil granulocytes levels which are a type of disease-fighting white blood cell.
Another study showed significant beneficial effects in patients suffering from dry macular degeneration, based on the antioxidative mechanisms of the device.
The device is easy to apply and delegate and can be used with the smallest butterflies.
