OverviewThe LDM® Triple device differs significantly from conventional ultrasound devices by its special triple-ultrasound wave (triple LDM®) and is used in aesthetic medicine and dermatology. It can be used all year round and can be easily combined with a variety of existing treatment methods on the market. The special ultrasound waves of the LDM® Triple can also be used as a supportive treatment at wrinkle injections and as a pre- and postoperative measure in aesthetic plastic surgery. The ultrasound technologies used in this device, such as the 10 or 19 MHz, LDM® and the triple LDM® technology, can intensify and visibly improve the treatment results. Once tested, patients will be amazed by the innovative triple LDM® effect!

What makes the LDM® Triple technologies such versatile and special? While most ultrasound systems only use frequencies in the range 1 to max. 5 MHz and thus concentrate energy mainly far below the dermis, the LDM® Triple device additionally uses ultrasonic waves with special frequencies of 10 MHz and 19 MHz. With a half-depth of about 3 mm (10 MHz) and about 1.5 mm (19 MHz), these frequencies work mainly in the upper layers of the skin; the 19 MHz frequency enables even more superficial work, especially in the dermis and at the dermis/subcutis border. Because these special frequencies have a very small wavelength (approx. 150 μm / 75 μm), they can directly influence single cells or small cell groups within tissue and trigger specific cellular reactions different from conventional ultrasound waves.
What means triple LDM®?Triple LDM® is a further development of the LDM® technology and involves an instantaneous change between different frequencies. As an innovation, this technology changes three frequencies simultaneously, allowing a greater dynamic pressure distribution across tissue layers and potentially leading to a differentiated physiological effect. The device works with combinations such as 1/3/10 MHz and 3/10/19 MHz and integrates the 19 MHz frequency into triple technology.
Which effect does LDM® have on skin? The ultrasonic waves used in LDM® Triple and their combinations can modulate individual tissue structures and specifically intervene in dynamic processes of connective tissue. They can regulate matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) involved in tissue degradation and influence production of heat shock proteins (HSPs) needed for proper protein control in tissue. Certain ultrasound frequencies can also specifically influence hyaluronic acid (HA) levels in the skin, potentially leading to increased turgor and visible structural changes.
Treatment scheduleImprovement of skin appearance (reduced pores and smoothing of skin microrelief) can often be observed directly after the first treatment. Recommended treatment courses depend on indication and skin condition: commonly 2 sessions per week over 4–6 weeks. For dermatological indications usually 6–8 treatments are needed; in complicated cases 10–16 treatments. The exact number depends on the clinical picture and patient course.
