Description

The split-type flat-plate plasma rapid freezer is a split flat-plate rapid-freezing unit designed for blood banks and transfusion services to improve plasma freezing efficiency while ensuring cold-chain quality and traceability. The unit integrates data traceability, quality-control management and patented flexible contact technology, offering a balance of energy efficiency, low noise and environmentally aware design.

Main advantages:
  • 1. Data traceability and QC management: Uses simulated plasma QC bags with temperature probes inserted into the core of the QC bag to capture real-time temperature and time data throughout the freezing cycle, providing true plasma-core temperature and freezing-time records for traceability.
  • 2. Quality management system:
    • 2.1 Stored monitoring data enable traceability of plasma freezing quality indicators.
    • 2.2 On first power-up each day the device automatically runs QC on the upper and lower cold-plate sensors; if plate temperature difference exceeds ±1°C an alarm is triggered and daily test results are saved automatically. Users can export and print quality management reports (manual temperature checks also supported).
    • 2.3 Users can preset freezing alert times using simulated plasma QC bags to facilitate continuous production.
    • 2.4 Multiple protection functions address equipment risk scenarios to protect personnel and assets.
  • 3. Flexible contact technology (patented): A purpose-designed flexible pad compensates for uneven contact caused by varying plasma bag volumes, improving freezing uniformity. Extensive tests show freezing performance improved by ≥20% when using the flexible pad. Patent certificate No. 2016372.
  • 4. Improved plasma freezing efficiency: The split design allows the condenser and cooling fan to be installed in the outdoor unit (typically outdoors), reducing internal heat dissipation, increasing refrigeration coefficient and overall freezing efficiency.
  • 5. Economic benefits: Suitable operating ambient temperature range: 5°C–35°C. With the outdoor unit located outside and reduced indoor heat load, air-conditioning starts are reduced, saving energy (example estimate: about 52 kWh saved per day; annual saving approx. RMB 19,000; estimated cumulative saving over an 8–10 year lifecycle: RMB 160,000–190,000, depending on operating conditions and electricity prices).
  • 6. Low noise and environmental advantages: Main noise source is the compressor; placing the compressor outdoors significantly lowers indoor noise, improving the working environment for blood bank staff.
  • 7. No indoor heat source: With primary heat sources located in the outdoor unit, the device does not significantly affect indoor temperature nor interfere with other temperature-sensitive equipment.
  • 8. Dedicated freezing trolley: Ergonomically designed trolley for transporting and inserting plasma tray racks. Height-adjustable work surface with up to 12 rollers for smooth push/pull operation; maximum load 50 kg.
