History - Made in Germany

A.R.C. is a company for medical laser technology in the medical field. The origin of this family-owned business from Nuremberg, Germany, reaches back to the year of 1978, in which Gisela and Reinhardt Thyzel founded the Meditec GmbH.

With the first Nd:YAG laser for secondary cataract surgery for commercial use, Rheinhardt Thyzel has set a milestone in the ophthalmology. Soon afterwards the Meditex Excimer Laser (MEL) for refractive eye treatment followed. The successor of this model, the MEL80 from Carl Zeiss Meditec, embodies even by today the extraordinary innovative strength.

By founding the A.R.C. Laser GmbH in 1996, the Thyzel Family started again a highly innovative business which is dedicated to the development and production of laser based solutions for gentle and effective surgeries and treatments. Ranging from highly complex ophthalmic surgeries to nail fungus treatment – 35 years of experience in the medical laser field pay off. Thanks to its innovations the A.R.C. Laser GmbH became one of the strongest laser companies worldwide.

Angela Thyzel is running the successful business, while Reinhardt Thyzel can fully dedicate himself to the development of pioneering technologies. Thus the first NanoLaser for a more gentle and careful cataract surgery is ready for production and will be launched even by this year.
