Star-Oddi

Star-Oddi specializes miniature data loggers for animal and environmental research, trusted for their precision, durability, and user-friendly design. Their product line includes implantable physio-loggers that measure body temperature, ECG-based heart rate, and activity in birds, fish, mammals, and reptiles. These tools provide deep physiological insights into energy use, stress, feeding, and migration—supporting both short- and long-term studies, even with devices as small as one gram. Star-Oddi’s instruments are especially suited for challenging field conditions, including marine and aquatic environments, enabling groundbreaking research in animal

We offer a unique product line of implantable physio-loggers that can be used to measure body temperature, ECG-based heart rate, and activity in a wide range of animal species from mice to non-human primates. Providing valuable information in a variety of settings.

This information offers valuable physiological insights for investigations into cardiovascular changes, energy expenditure, hypothermia, stress, lethargy, disease development, welfare and temperature niche like occurs in torpor. Our loggers can be used in high biosafety levels and there are no cage restrictions. Studies can span from days to years, even with our smallest one-gram device. Our products have been cited in over 2000 journal publications. physiology and environmental change.
