How to choose this product
A reflex hammer is used primarily to test the reflexes of the tendons in order to diagnose nerve and neuronal pathologies. It is also used to detect other clinical and anatomical problems.
These instruments are used to administer thoracic and abdominal percussion during general physical examinations. In a neurological exam, testing tendon reflexes can indicate either a peripheral or a central nervous problem.
Hammers differ in shape and materials. There are both adult and children's models, as well as those designed for a particular part of the body. The most common versions include Babinski, Berliner and Buck types. Some are multi-purpose.
How to choose
Choice will depend on specific intended use, be it reflex tests, chest percussion or another function. The anatomical characteristics of the percussion zone are also important.
