Description

Presentation
MAGPILOT is an electromagnetic tracking system delivering real-time, sub-millimeter electromagnetic tracking for medical applications. It supports unobstructed flexible sensors suitable for integration into rigid and flexible devices such as endoscopes, catheters and ultrasound probes. The system enables non-invasive instrument tracking in tortuous anatomies and supports intraoperative navigation workflows that can reduce reliance on fluoroscopy.

Main components
  • Field Generator (FG): emits a low-intensity varying electromagnetic field defining the measurement volume.
  • System Control Unit (SCU): controls the FG, aggregates SIU data, computes sensor position and orientation, and interfaces with the host computer.
  • Sensor Interface Unit (SIU): amplifies and digitizes sensor signals; multiple SIUs may be connected to one SCU.
  • Sensors: available in multiple sizes for 5DOF or 6DOF tracking; designed for integration into surgical tools.

Applications
  • Image-guided and robotic-assisted surgery (e.g., interventional radiology, thoracic, ENT)
  • Catheter and guidewire navigation in complex anatomies
  • Integration with surgical robots and OEM systems
  • Real-time instrument tracking where sub-millimeter accuracy is required
  • Hybrid OR workflows aiming to limit intraoperative fluoroscopy

Product advantages
  • Sub-millimeter accuracy for precise instrument localization
  • Real-time electromagnetic tracking with deterministic feedback suitable for automation
  • AI-ready interfaces for integration into advanced control systems
  • Compact, lightweight components facilitating integration into constrained setups
  • Scalable architecture: multiple SIUs per SCU and support for several sensors
