The closed and sterile design minimises the risk of contamination while maintaining cell integrity. An additional integrated check valve ensures efficient blood delivery and maximises the filtration volume by safely draining excess air into the collection bag. Filtration Time: Fast and efficient. The filtration time is on average less than 30 minutes at room temperature and less than an hour if the blood has been cooled beforehand. The system enables a residual leucocyte count of less than 1 x 10⁶ per bag with a red blood cell recovery of over 85%. In addition, the haemoglobin content is maintained at an average of ≥ 43 g per bag, while the haemolysis rate is extremely low at less than 0.8 % at the end of storage.
