Rotameter LE902BT

Presentation
Rotameter is designed to assess rotational behaviour in rodents and is commonly used in studies of unilateral lesions of the nigrostriatal dopaminergic system, such as Parkinson disease models. The device confines the subject in a transparent container while recording left and right turns.

Operating principle
The subject is fitted with an adjustable Velcro harness attached to a rotation sensor via a flexible tether. A transparent cylinder or bowl with a lateral support for a vertical stand confines the animal. The bi-directional rotation sensor provides separate outputs for right and left turns and supports adjustable pulses-per-turn (4–36 pulses per complete turn). Two counting configurations are available: Individual Counter or Multicounter.
