Description

Description
Colcemid (Demecolcin) inhibits mitotic spindle formation, causing cell cycle arrest and an accumulation of cells in metaphase. It is used to obtain metaphase chromosomes for cytogenetic analysis and for in vitro diagnostic assays that require metaphase spreads. Typical use includes harvesting lymphocyte cultures for karyotyping and in‑situ hybridization.

Applications
  • Cell culture
  • Karyotyping and chromosome analysis
  • In vitro cytogenetic diagnostics (e.g., FISH, karyotype preparation)

Available volumes
  • 10 ml
  • 20 ml
  • 50 ml
