Description

Product overview
The AHD-900 is a handheld veterinary digital radiography (DR) system combining a 3.96 kg battery-powered X‑ray generator with a separate wired flat‑panel detector. Offering up to 900 W output (40–90 kV, 1–10 mA), a 7‑inch touchscreen and an integrated collimator, it is designed for portable clinical use, mobile visits and selected limb examinations in larger animals.

Key features
  • Battery-powered generator (3.96 kg) for portable veterinary radiography.
  • Maximum output 900 W; tube voltage 40–90 kV (1 kV steps); tube current 1–10 mA; exposure 0.1–2 s.
  • 7‑inch touchscreen (800 × 480) for parameter adjustment and preset recall.
  • Integrated positioning light and adjustable collimator for field alignment.
  • Separate 17 × 17‑inch‑class wired DR detector: 3072 × 3072 matrix, 139 µm pixel pitch, 16‑bit A/D conversion.

What you get from this compact design
  • Portable generator: 3.96 kg, dimensions 221 × 153 × 261 mm for easy transport between exam locations.
  • On‑unit control: set 40–90 kV, 1–10 mA and 0.1–2 s exposures on the 7‑inch touchscreen.
  • Field alignment: built‑in positioning light and adjustable collimator integrated into the source housing.
  • Digital capture: 17 × 17‑inch‑class detector with 139 µm pitch and 16‑bit conversion for high dynamic range images.

Design and portability
Dual handgrips and a compact housing allow the operator to carry and position the generator at the patient. The unit runs from an internal battery so no mains cable is required during exposure; the charger accepts 100–240 VAC input. A carrying case is supplied to store the generator, detector, workstation components and cables.

Animal applications and examination settings
The system is intended for veterinary radiography across companion animals and selected larger‑animal limb exams. Typical use cases include:
  • Dogs and cats — skeletal, limb, chest and abdominal projections adapted to patient size; companion‑animal clinics and emergencies.
  • Rabbits and rodents — small‑animal skeletal and selected body projections; exotic‑pet clinics.
  • Birds and reptiles — species‑appropriate skeletal and body projections; avian/exotic care.
  • Horses and larger livestock — selected limb and distal extremity projections for field or stable visits.
  • Wildlife (e.g., deer) — selected limb examinations where size and access permit; rescue and field care.

Exposure settings and positioning (at the generator)
The integrated 800 × 480 touchscreen provides parameter adjustment and preset selection. Tube voltage is selectable from 40 to 90 kV (1 kV steps), tube current from 1 to 10 mA, and exposure time from 0.1 to 2 s. Maximum output is 900 W (90 kV / 10 mA). The package includes an exposure hand switch and a remote control to trigger exposures.

Digital image acquisition and flat panel detector
The wired detector offers a nominal 430 × 430 mm imaging area (17 × 17‑inch class). An amorphous silicon sensor with CsI scintillator captures images in a 3072 × 3072 matrix (~9.4 M pixels) with 139 µm pixel pitch and 16‑bit A/D conversion. Interface is GigE; detector power consumption is 16 W. Typical exposure‑to‑display interval is approximately 3–5 seconds depending on detector, acquisition software and workstation.

Clinical applications and case uses
Suitable for routine and emergency companion‑animal radiography, equine limb and joint imaging, wildlife orthopaedics and mobile in‑clinic workflows where a portable generator and separate DR detector are required. The system is intended for static radiographs (not fluoroscopy).
