The third source are devices able to decompress the gas contained in the medical gas cylinders (or cylinder bundles) and make it available to the correct distribution pressure as determined in accordance with EN ISO 7396-1.
In the single-stage configuration the gas from pressurized containers is decompressed in the gearbox and sent directly to the line.
In the two-stage configuration downstream of the first gear decompression, are present secondary reducers or second stage, which usually decrease the pressure to values lower than those used in the single stage configuration.
