Description

Overview
Laboratories using small-animal anesthesia in open systems generate continuous emissions of volatile anesthetics that can affect the work environment and staff safety. The SL-150 anesthetic gas scavenger connects to anesthesia circuits and filters volatile agents such as isoflurane and sevoflurane using activated-carbon adsorption to reduce ambient contamination.

Key features
  • Continuous adsorption of volatile anesthetics including isoflurane and sevoflurane.
  • Activated carbon powder used as the adsorption medium for effective gas capture.
  • Multi-layer safety: dual-canister design for high treatment efficiency (over 98% under described conditions).
  • Replaceable activated carbon powder for straightforward maintenance and low operating cost.
  • Built-in timer indicator to signal cartridge replacement or maintenance intervals.

Model
SL-150

Applications
  • Dual-line waste circuit: recovers gas leaked from masks during surgical or procedural operations.
  • Integration with stereotaxic frames: connection to stereotaxic anesthesia masks to treat exhaust gas.
  • Induction box connection: treats anesthetic gas emitted from induction chambers.

Dual-layer anesthesia circuit
The dual-layer circuit uses an inner lumen to deliver anesthetic gas and an outer lumen to withdraw excess exhaust. When used with dual-layer masks, the system can remove over 95% of escaped anesthetic gas, suitable for rat/mouse dual masks and similar accessories.

Activated carbon cartridge (accessory)
· Example model: 20650
· Designed for use with induction boxes; contains approximately 650 g of activated carbon, cartridge weight approx. 800 g; nominal adsorption capacity about 150 g of anesthetic waste (actual capacity depends on environment and usage).

Compatible models and accessories
  • 20610: dual-line tubing / dual-mask kit (compatible with rat and mouse dual masks).
  • 30152: surgery board with small/large animal anesthesia masks (for combined use).

Operation and maintenance
Activated carbon powder is replaceable. The unit includes a timer indicator to prompt replacement, enabling predictable maintenance and sustained adsorption performance with low day-to-day costs.

Suitable settings
Designed for laboratories performing open small-animal anesthesia, including induction chambers, surgical tables, stereotaxic procedures and other scenarios requiring capture or treatment of anesthetic waste gas.
