Description

The A8-2 is an isokinetic multi-joint assessment and training system for objective measurement, rehabilitation and strength training of major human joints.

Overview
  • Designed for shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee and ankle assessment and training.
  • Supports isokinetic, isotonic, isometric, centrifugal, centripetal and continuous passive motion modes.
  • Provides test recording, report generation, printing and secure data storage for clinical follow-up and research.


How it works
  • The limb is fixed to a lever; a mechanical speed limiter adjusts resistance to maintain constant movement speed so torque and other parameters can be recorded objectively.
  • Integrated components include control computer, mechanical speed limiter, printer, adjustable seat and limb fixtures for reproducible positioning.
  • Measures parameters such as torque (including peak torque), peak torque-to-weight ratio, work, optimal force angle and muscle work volume.


Applications
  • Intended for use in neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, sports medicine and rehabilitation departments.
  • Indications: disuse atrophy, muscle lesions, neuropathic dysfunction, joint injury or disease, general muscle weakness and athlete strength training.


Contraindications
  • Severe local joint pain or major limitation of joint mobility
  • Synovitis or joint exudation
  • Instability of the joint or adjacent joints
  • Fracture, severe osteoporosis or bone/joint malignancy
  • Early postoperative stage, soft-tissue scar contracture, acute swelling, acute strain or sprain
