The A5-2S Finger Joint Rehabilitation Assessment System is an integrated rehabilitation device combining objective assessment and targeted treatment. Using a soft pneumatic glove together with surface electromyography (SEMG/EMG), camera-based motion capture and force sensing, the system detects patients' hand movement intentions and provides coordinated active-plus-passive training. The platform also offers quantitative hand function assessment and patient data management to support clinicians in creating personalized therapy plans and monitoring progress.

02 Function Details
  • Patient information management: Records demographic and clinical data including gender, age, Brunnstrom stage, glove size, affected side and diagnosis. Assessment and treatment sessions are automatically archived to support individualized care and longitudinal follow-up.
  • Quantitative hand function assessment: Measures finger-by-finger movement angles and range of motion (ROM), generates visual reports and rehabilitation trend charts for objective evaluation and clinical decision support.
  • Intelligent pneumatic–electro-synchronous combined training:
    • Triggered pneumatic–electro training: Real-time EMG captures voluntary activation to trigger synchronized pneumatic assistance and electrical stimulation for active-plus-passive training.
    • Induced pneumatic–electro training: EMG-driven coordination of pneumatic and electrical stimulation intensity, with adaptive assistance based on real-time monitoring.
  • Integrated multi-mode training:
    • Mirror-guided mode: Camera captures movements of the unaffected hand and drives the affected hand to reproduce tasks, supporting bilateral motor relearning.
    • Passive fine motor training: Supports passive exercises such as fist clench, single-finger tapping, finger opposition and pinch movements.
    • Resistance training mode: Soft glove provides bidirectional progressive resistance with five adjustable levels to strengthen hand muscles.
    • Active and combined training: Uses camera and force sensor for task-based active training with scene interaction and game feedback; supports custom programs aligned with rehabilitation goals.
    • Gamified interactive training: Supports three input modalities—camera, EMG and grip force—to increase patient engagement and adherence.
