Overview
Embody addresses the physical mismatch between people and their devices by encouraging healthy movement, improving pressure distribution and supporting natural spinal alignment. Developed to reduce stiffness and fatigue associated with prolonged sitting, the chair adapts dynamically to the user to maintain balanced support during varied tasks.

Design and research
Designed by Bill Stumpf and Jeff Weber with input from more than 20 physicians and PhDs in biomechanics, vision, physical therapy and ergonomics. Research-led development positions Embody as a reference for sustained postural support and pressure management in professional seating.

Pixelated Support

• A dynamic matrix of pixels in the seat and back surfaces conforms to micro-movements, delivering localized support.
• Creates a balanced sensation that reduces pressure points and promotes circulation.
• Supports movement and comfort during long periods of seated work.

Backfit adjustment
The backrest mirrors the human spine with a central spine and flexible ribs. Backfit adjustment aligns the backrest to the user’s natural spinal curve; once set, the backrest adapts to forward and reclined postures to provide continuous support.

Layers of intelligence
The seat is made of four distinct support layers with different material properties and manufacturing processes. These layers work together to conform precisely to the user’s shape and are engineered for airflow to maintain a cooler, more comfortable sitting environment.
