Intended Use This kit is used for the qualitative detection of carbapenem resistance genes in human sputum samples, rectal swab samples or pure colonies, including KPC (Klebsiella pneumonia carbapenemase), NDM (New Delhi metallo-β-lactamase 1), OXA48 (oxacillinase 48), OXA23 (oxacillinase 23), VIM (Verona Imipenemase), and IMP (Imipenemase). Epidemiology Carbapenem antibiotics are atypical β-lactam antibiotics with the broadest antibacterial spectrum and strongest antibacterial activity. Because of its stability to β-lactamase and low toxicity, it has become one of the most important antibacterial drugs for the treatment of severe bacterial infections.
