The C840M Integrated Evaporation Residue Testing System is an automated gravimetric-method instrument for determination of evaporation residue, total migration and non-volatile matter in food contact materials, pharmaceutical packaging and chemical reagents. It integrates evaporation, drying, rapid cooling and high-precision weighing to provide traceable results and GMP-compliant data management.
Characteristics- Traceable Data
- Fully automatic gripper for fast transfer and weighing of 12 test cups.
- Dual separate-chamber design isolates evaporation from weighing to prevent temperature and humidity effects on the balance.
- Optional imported precision balance with repeatability down to 0.05 mg.
- Visual and traceable balance layout; user-accessible self-calibration weight that can be quickly removed.
- Safe & Compliant
- Fully closed, zero-leakage water bath to prevent release of harmful vapors.
- Automatic water fill and drain with liquid-level detection.
- Rapid liquid cooling enabling accurate room-temperature weighing.
- Nitrogen circulation and independent electrical control for safe handling of hazardous gases.
- Efficient reagent collection module to minimize environmental contamination.
- Intelligent Control
- 10.1-inch medical-grade touch screen; instrument can operate independently without a PC.
- Compact benchtop design automates evaporation, drying, cooling and room-temperature weighing.
- Embedded sensors with audible and visual alarms; network port for remote control and firmware upgrades.
- Professional software for GMP data traceability; multi-level user management and electronic signature support per 21 CFR Part 11 (design available).
Testing Principles- Total Migration: Sample is immersed in a food-simulator solution; after evaporation and drying, the total migration amount of non-volatile matter is determined.
- Non-volatile Matter: Sample is treated with the specified solvent; after evaporation and drying, the mass of non-volatile residue is measured relative to a blank.
Test Standard Compliance- Pharmacopoeia standards; YBB00342002-2015, YBB00132002-2015 and other pharmaceutical packaging/production norms.
- ISO 759-1981; GB 31604.8-2016; GB/T 5009.60 and other food contact material standards.
- GB/T 9740 and standards for determination of reagent residues after evaporation.
Applications- Basic Applications
- Purified water: determination of non-volatile matter in purified water for pharmaceutical use.
- Extensive Applications
- Pharmaceutical packaging materials: determination of non-volatile matter in composite films, bags, bottles, rubber stoppers and caps.
- Food contact materials: total migration testing for polyethylene, polystyrene, PVC, polypropylene, melamine, foam polystyrene and plant-fiber molded products.
- Chemical reagents: residue determination of various reagents after evaporation.
