Testing Principles- Weigh an appropriate sample (typically 1.0–2.0 g) into a crucible ignited to constant weight, recordWeight, gently carbonize if required, add 0.5–1 mL sulfuric acid when specified, evaporate volatiles then ignite at 700–800°C to constant weight; final mass difference corresponds to residue on ignition (ash content).
