OverviewThe Mastersizer 3000+ Ultra is a compact laser diffraction particle size analyzer delivering measurements from 0.01–3500 µm. It combines a single optical measurement path with dual-wavelength detection and software tools to support method development, routine testing and regulated workflows.
Key features- Laser diffraction particle sizing with Mie and Fraunhofer analysis
- Measurement range: 0.01–3500 µm (single optical path)
- Size Sure measurement mode (patent-pending, AI-assisted)
- Mastersizer Xplorer software with Data Quality Guidance and SOP Architect
- Interchangeable automated wet and dry dispersion accessories
- Smart Manager connectivity and OmniTrust compatibility for regulated environments
How it worksA laser beam passes through a dispersed particulate sample and a detector array measures scattered light intensity across a wide angular range. Scattering patterns are analyzed (Mie/Fraunhofer) to compute particle size distributions. The system integrates optical bench, dispersion modules and software to ensure reproducible results.
Optical bench and measurement capabilitiesSingle optical measurement path with reverse-Fourier lens arrangement and log-spaced detector array. Dual-wavelength detection (red He–Ne and blue LED) supports accurate analysis across the full size range. Automatic alignment and high acquisition rates enable rapid, repeatable measurements.
Sample dispersion unitsMultiple wet dispersion accessories (small to large volumes) and a dedicated dry dispersion system provide correct concentration control and stable dispersion state for powders, suspensions and emulsions. Accessories are easily interchanged to suit different workflows.
Mastersizer softwareMastersizer Xplorer controls instrument operation, analyses scattering data to generate size distributions and guides users through method selection, routine measurement and reporting. Built-in advice reduces training needs and supports method performance tracking.
