Description

Overview
The CHELT device integrates five technologies (dry cold air, hot dry air, THEAL laser therapy, thermal shock and THEAL-CRIO synergy) with a vobulated thermal control system to deliver flexible, protocol-driven therapeutic actions. It is designed to provide anti-inflammatory, biostimulating and analgesic effects, promote muscle relaxation and joint mobility, accelerate healing via thermal shocks, and optimise laser penetration by using cryotherapy as a carrier.

Integrated technologies
  • Cryotherapy: emission of dry cold air down to -40°C with vobulated thermal control for anti-inflammatory, biostimulating and analgesic actions.
  • Thermotherapy: adjustable hot dry air from 35°C to 55°C for deep tissue treatment, vasodilation and muscle relaxation.
  • Thermal Shock: rapid thermal shocks up to 95°C in under one second with tissue thermal control to accelerate healing and enhance anti-inflammatory response.
  • THEAL Laser Therapy: adaptive phototherapy combining low-energy and high-intensity laser features with up to 8 wavelengths and multiple emission modes.
  • THEAL-CRIO Synergy: use of dry cold air (-40°C) as carrier for the laser beam to induce superficial vasoconstriction and improve laser penetration for deeper biomodulation.

Laser capabilities and modes
High-intensity laser emission with configurable combinations of 4, 6 or 8 wavelengths. Multiple emission modes include Continuous (CW), Single Pulse, Puls1/Puls2/Puls3, E²C (patented stochastic mode), AntInf, HPM, Dimmer, Burst and Wave Creator. Special functions: Joule Mode, Timer Mode, Trigger Point Mode, Effect Finder, Tissue Target System and Tissue Thermal Control Mode.

Wavelength characteristics (summary)
450 nm | High absorption by haemoglobin and melanin; strong bactericidal effect; indicated for dental, surgical and vascular surface applications.
650 nm | Absorbed mainly by melanin; effective for surface energy exchange; supports wound, sore and ulcer healing.
780 nm | Activates haemoglobin oxidative processes and accelerates ATP production; evidence for nerve tissue regeneration support.
810 nm | Promotes haemoglobin-driven oxidative activity and supports muscle and tendon tissue regeneration.
905 nm | Broad chromophore absorption; increases cellular oxygen availability to support natural healing.
980 nm | Absorbed mainly by water; targets thermo- and mechanoreceptors; with E²C mode supports rapid analgesic effects via peripheral nervous system interaction.
1064 nm | Highly directional penetration; delivers energy dose to deep lesions with antalgic and anti-inflammatory effects.
1210 nm | Strong water absorption converts energy into heat, creating thermal gradients that stimulate microcirculation and oxygenation.

Handpieces and applicators
The system provides two dedicated handpieces: Light Blade (laser handpiece) and Air Blade (cryotherapy, thermotherapy and thermal shock). Light Blade is compact and ergonomic with magnetic connection and 14 auto-recognition applicators (4 with thermal control). Air Blade integrates thermal control and wireless communication. A wide range of applicators is available including small/large Applicatore PLUS, spherical applicators, Collimated XP (standard and temperature-controlled), fixed and variable focus applicators, Aurix body applicator and micro Spheric XP.

Therapy management and usability
MecOS 5.0 with 15.6" touch-screen enables predefined and custom emission modes, saving of personalised wavelength mixes (Lambda Wave Creator), creation and storage of custom protocols, and access to a library of over 150 preset protocols. Protocols can be adapted by disease, patient phototype, age, somatotype and VAS pain score. E²C stochastic mode and PBM capabilities are included for analgesic and photobiomodulation outcomes.

Safety and control
Vobulated thermal control continuously modulates output to maintain temperature within predefined thresholds; the system can stop therapy and alarm the operator if critical thresholds are exceeded. Temperature acquisition is frequent (up to 20 readings per second with vobulated control). Graphic and acoustic laser emission control and calibration comply with CEI EN 60825-1.

Scientific validation and commercial features
CHELT Therapy has been evaluated in studies by international research centres and academic institutions. The platform supports marketing tools, training (Mecmedix Advanced Medical Academy), technical support and partnerships with academic and sports organisations. ROI calculation tools and clinic-oriented commercial features are available.
