Description The PIO is an active walk simulator designed to perform complex rehabilitation exercises in a standing position. Intended for use in rehabilitation departments, sanatoriums and at home. Available in two versions: PIO (B) for children and PIO (A) for adults. The device provides trunk stabilization and supports the lower limbs mechanically while the patient actively controls the movement using the upper limbs.

Operating principle The patient moves the upper limbs to drive mechanical elements that support the inert lower limbs. While maintaining an upright posture with trunk stabilization, the patient actively moves the upper limbs and shoulder girdle; the mechanism passively and alternately moves the hip, knee and ankle joints of the lower limbs, inducing coordinated trunk rotation.
