Mediswab sterile gauze swabs are manufactured from 100% absorbent cotton woven cloth (Cloth Type-17) in compliance with BS EN 14079:2003 and ISO 13485 processes. The swabs offer high absorbency for blood and exudates while remaining soft and skin-friendly. Edges are folded (American fold) to minimize loose threads and fiber contamination. Available in sterile (EO/Gamma) and non-sterile variants. CE-EU MDR certified.

II. Intended purpose
To be placed over wounds prior to taping, strapping or bandaging; may be moistened with antiseptic for wound cleaning; used for padding, protection, blood absorption and surgical fluid management.

III. Duration of use
Short-term use: more than 24 hours up to less than 30 days depending on clinical procedure.

Instructions for use — practical points

• Ensure packaging is intact and clean before use
• Open pouch carefully; use immediately after opening
• Clean wound thoroughly before applying gauze swab
• Select appropriate shape and size for the wound
• Gauze may be used dry or moistened with approved antiseptic solution; apply gently
• Dispose after single use once saturated or no longer required

Shelf life
4 years from date of manufacture.

Warnings & precautions

• Read IFU before use
• May leave residue in the wound bed and may injure fragile or granulating tissue on removal
• Do not reuse or re-sterilize
• Do not use if packaging is opened, damaged, or expired
• Change gauze frequently as clinically indicated

Storage & disposal
Store in a dry place away from direct sunlight; do not exceed 40°C. Dispose of used product according to local medical waste regulations.
