Overview
MasterDent is a CMOS area image sensor designed for dental X-ray imaging. It delivers 2.1 megapixels (1300 x 1700) with 20 x 20 μm pixels and uses a fiber optic plate (FOP) as the input window to preserve image quality and sensor longevity. The sensor integrates a monitoring photodiode for X-ray dose detection, supports up to three units connected to one PC, and is dust- and water-proof (equivalent to IP67).

Monitoring Photodiode
The sensor includes a monitoring photodiode along the entire perimeter of the effective pixel area. During acquisition the photodiode measures dose rate and compares it to an adjustable threshold; when the threshold is exceeded the image is captured automatically. Thresholds are manually selectable to ensure consistent image quality.
Detection / Integration Modes
MasterDent provides flexible detection and exposure modes. X-ray dose detection can be automatic (using the monitoring photodiode) or disabled for manual selection. Exposure can be automatic or manual.
