Operation and sterilization
Steam (moist heat) sterilization under pressure is used to destroy microorganisms. Class B cycles perform repeated vacuum pulses followed by steam injection to ensure penetration into lumens and complex loads. Typical cycle parameters include 121°C at 2 bar for 15 minutes or 134°C at 3.2 bar for 3 minutes; correct precleaning and packaging are required for reproducible results.
