Overview
Active self-warming patient blanket Mölnlycke EasyWarm+ is a non-sterile, single-use warming blanket intended to reduce perioperative patient heat loss. Blankets are individually vacuum packed; warming pads activate and generate heat when exposed to air. The upper and lower sections separate and re-attach by velcro to accommodate different surgical positions.

How it works / Instructions for use

• Use by or under supervision of qualified healthcare personnel.
• Recommended ambient temperature: 18–24 °C.
• Remove from vacuum pouch by tearing the pre-cut tab.
• Open and fully unfold the blanket; allow approximately 30 minutes for warming pads to reach operating temperature.
• Place blanket on patient with the white side towards the patient (correct side indicated by the marking 'THIS SIDE UP').
• Do not place blanket over the patient’s face, do not tuck under arms, legs or body, and do not place under the patient.
• Do not place hands, arms or anesthetized limbs on the blanket.
• Do not use fixation straps, tape, straps or additional bedding on top of the blanket; avoid adding weight or pressure.

Precautions

• Do not use on patients with known hypersensitivity to product materials.
• Avoid direct skin contact in areas with bruising, swelling or frostbite.
• Warming pads are magnetic and not radiolucent: remove blanket prior to MRI or X-ray imaging.
• Heat may increase delivery from transdermal drug systems (patches).
• Do not reuse — reuse may degrade performance and risk cross-contamination.

Warnings
The blanket is non-sterile. Take appropriate precautions, when necessary, to protect the sterile field.
