Description

Presentation
MagicTouch is a sirolimus-based drug-coated balloon catheter (MagicTouch – SCB) designed for use in coronary arteries and specifically indicated for the treatment of in‑stent restenosis. The device features a low profile and excellent trackability and incorporates Nanolute technology with a circumferential coating to promote homogeneous drug distribution across lesions.

Clinical-therapeutic indications
  • Treatment of in‑stent restenosis.
  • De novo lesions in patients at high risk of restenosis.
  • Bifurcation lesions (supports single‑stent strategy and reduces side‑branch complications).
  • Small‑calibre vessels and challenging anatomies while preserving luminal diameter.

Technology and mechanism of action
MagicTouch SCB is manufactured using Nanolute technology that applies a circumferential coating. Under low‑pressure inflation the design achieves 100% coated surface area, enabling homogeneous sirolimus transfer to the vessel wall and controlled drug release during inflation.

Design features
  • Active substance: Sirolimus (drug‑coated balloon).
  • Circumferential Nanolute coating for uniform coverage.
  • Coating applied via low‑pressure inflation resulting in 100% coated area.
  • Homogeneous drug release during the inflation period.
  • Low profile and high navigability for tortuous anatomies.
  • Balloon folding: 3 folds (balloon packing design).

Studies and evidence
Available data include a pharmacokinetic study and a distribution study using labeled sirolimus (DTF) to evaluate drug delivery after treatment with the drug‑coated balloon.
