Lyophilized Real-Time PCR mix for the detection and quantification of EBV Epstein–Barr virus (EBV) is one of the most common viruses in humans. The virus lives in a person’s salivary glands and can be spread through saliva, such as by kissing or sharing drinking glasses or eating utensils. About half of all fiveyear-old children and almost 90% of adults have evidence of previous EBV contagion. EBV infection is best known as the cause of infectious mononucleosis, but it is also associated with particular forms of cancer, a higher risk of certain autoimmune diseases and transplants complications. STAT-NAT® EBV kit proved its effectiveness for the detection and quantification of EBV DNA in samples. The high-sensitivity and specificity, linearity and quantitation performances of STAT-NAT® EBV kit, associated with the ready-to-use and room temperature storage, are key features for the early and correct management of the affected patients. Standard Curve (104, 103, 102 and 10 EBV copies/reaction)
Benefits of the kit:
• Detection and Quantification of Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) specific DNA
• Ready to use kit including internal Control and Quantification Standards
• Large range of samples: whole blood, serum, plasma, CSF, saliva
• Optimal performances: high sensitivity and specificity
