Description

Product introduction
The Radioactive Waste Decay Chamber is a radiation-shielded temporary storage unit designed for nuclear medicine departments, radiotherapy centers and radioactive laboratories. It is intended for the safe collection, isolation and decay storage of short-lived radioactive waste generated by diagnostic radiopharmaceuticals, iodine therapies and related procedures. The unit features a lead inner shield and a double-layer 304 stainless steel shell that provide attenuation and reduce the risk of radiation leakage.

Product features
  • Sliding cover plate with rotating input port for secure insertion and removal of waste.
  • Four load-bearing swivel casters with locks for movable or fixed installation.
  • Anti-fingerprint surface treatment to limit contamination marks.
  • Designed for temporary decay storage of short-lived radionuclide waste from clinical and laboratory workflows.

Technical parameters
  • Material: Lead inner shielding; 304 stainless steel double-layer shell.
  • Lead shielding thickness: 20 mm Pb.
  • External dimensions (H×W×L): 400 mm × 400 mm × 500 mm.
  • Access: Sliding cover with rotating input port.
  • Mobility: Four load-bearing swivel casters with locking brake.
  • Surface finish: Anti-fingerprint treatment.

Application fields
  • Radiology departments: Temporary containment of short-lived radionuclide waste from imaging and interventional procedures.
  • Radiation oncology: Localized therapeutic workflows generating short-lived radioisotope residues.
  • Nuclear medicine: Collection and decay storage of diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceutical waste.
